Reasons: 

High Boost clock

Ridiculously powerful fans (if they ever turn on lol, they only do when benchmarking)

Looks cool :D 

 

Cons: 

It's a 3-slot card. Only con really.

I own the Strix version of the 1070.  

 

I chose it because I thought it was the best looking one of the bunch, color neutral, and a card that at the time was one of the better reviewing 1070's around. I wanted a card that could look good in any build it was stuck in, and since it's just an all black card it works with ANY build I would do.

 

You'd probably have to look at a Tweaktown review of the 1070's from around June July to see how 1 specific model compared against another. OC3D is another that has multiple 1070 reviews and performance numbers in the reviews.
