increasing dynamic video memory??

ZeusXI

So...does this increase with demand, because my lpatop says "intel HD graphics 520, up to 3147MB dynamic video Memory" and when i look at the graphic properties in device manager, it says i have 128MB of dedicated Video memory. Are dedicated, and dynamic different? if so, what ways? and if i can figure out how to increase it, how can i? im using an acer aspire v3-372T-5051 laptop so if that helps, please let me know

I believe the way it works with integrated graphics, the system memory doubles as video memory, but the iGPU only sees it as video memory when it needs it (and there is memory available).

The system memory is potential (or dynamic) video memory and the CPU has some video memory built in (or the motherboard, don't remember with HD 520) which is known as dedicated video memory (the 128MB in your case).

The integrated graphics in Intel CPUs use your system memory as video memory. That's why it's dynamic because the amount available is subject to change based off of system usage.

dedicated - how much phisical memory is installed / allocated (in the case of integrated graphics)

dynamic - virtual memory, yes even video cards use virtual memory

The dedicated memory is ram that is the bare minimum that the igpu needs to run and cannot be lowered, dynamic is that ram that the igpu can use if it needs to, even the best igpus don't use over 1gb of ram though, so it will never use the full 3gb, and increasing it will not increase performance.
