What do you guys think about this laptop? Should I bother with upgrading it or just keep it as it is? Also what kind of performance should I expect from it?

well seeing as you usiually cant do much about upgrading laptops exept harddrives and RAM thats pretty OK, the SSHD isnt amazing but its not bad and the 960M is an ok 1080p card so medium settings 1080p 60+ fps in most titles for preformance

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Yeah that's definitely fine, I also have a fairly high end desktop which is where I'll be gaming the most anyways

I can't stand anything HP IMO. 8gb of memory for that price is meh. A hard drive should just be an option, it should come with an SSD....It's 2016 now. It's fairly heavy and I don't get why they still put usb 2.0 ports on laptops anymore. Because it's HP, if you ever have to service it (change thermal paste/pad or clean the fan) good luck. If you wanted to upgrade it, get an SSD in it. It should perform pretty good in most games.

You should be good with that for a while. You should get very good performance for a while. 960m might limit some games, but the next thing up is the 10 series which come in very expensive laptops
