Hi I was using my pc last night and my girlfriends accidentally unplugged the wrong plug from the extension lead causing the pc to turn off, I thought nothing of it.

I tried rebooting the system and it didn't seem to boot. Usually on the gfx card there are 2 lights were the pci connects, but now once the psu is turned on and the system hasn't booted there are no lights.

when the psu is on and I try to boot nothing happens no fans no lights apart from the 2 gfx card lights blink for sec then die.

I have took the whole system apart and looked for anything visually wrong with the system, nothing wrong. reconnected it all back and reset the bios battery and the cmos, still nothing.

so I thought it would of been the PSU so I just decided to go into town and grab a new cx750m to see if the psu was the problem and the same issues are present,

now the only thing that I can think of is it the motherboard?

specs;

i5-4670k

gtx 770

16 gb ddr3 ram

gigabyte b85-hd3

corsair 650w

120gb evo

1th wd hhd

i would say the power cut somehow killed the motherboard

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Certainly looks like motherboard, but just to be sure, pull everything off the board but the CPU and fan, disconnect the power, and try holding the power button for about a minute. Plug the power back in and try turning it on from there. If you still don't get anything out of it, the last thing I'd suggest to try before calling it for the motherboard is to pull it from the case and testing it on its box or another non-conductive surface to see if it's not something inside the case shorting.
