What to do..

Friend ordered her parts for her pc, starts putting everything together etc etc.

I'm helping her via webcam, and she turns it off to watch linus's tutorial on how to install and AMD CPU on "Techquickie"

She puts the cpu in the wrong way, puts the retention arm down, pretty sure she bent literally every pin, and now she's raging that I didn't help her, yet the video literally goes step by step with AMAZING easiness.

Wtf do i say to her -.-

Here's the video:

Cpu is an fx-8320, pics:

Well it's really her fault if she can't even follow simple instructions, how is she supposed to finish her build if she can't even put the CPU in the socket correctly...  -_-

She literally put the triangle on the complete opposite side that it was supposed to go lol.

In the pic the triangle is in the top left hand corner, when it needs to be in the top right.  IN THE PICTURE.

On the board, it has to be in the top left hand corner of the socket.  (I 100% double checked in pictures of the board as-well..)

Honestly when she turned the webcam off to do it herself she just forfeited any deserved pity from you.

Edit: I feel like I made that sound a bit harsh. What I mean is she has no right to blame you after that.

Genius, well that's her fault for not asking your advice anyway  ^_^

The best is to go to her house and help her, unless she kicks you out

I don't understand how it could be so difficult... the instructions are extremely clear..

"Align triangle, Put cpu in socket, pull down retention arm".. AND she watched linus's video.

I feel bad for the amd cpu.. poor little cpu :(

It's her own fault anyway, she needs to think about her action twice.

(I'm sorry if it's a rude/insulting response to you and your friend but she should listen to your advice in the first place, or watch that techquicky video very carefully).

Tell her it's an accident and that can happen to anyone who builds a pc for the first time*.

Could you try to tell the shop that an accident occurred while placing that CPU into the socket and that she want to get a replacement unit send to her home, or is't that an option with that shop in North America?

Watch out, there might be ninjas out there
