I am a building my first computer, like in the process, and none of the screws that came with my case are fitting the mobo standoffs. help plz

Should have those. Some screw threads look similar, but are actually different. So check again or see manual if it mentiones the added screws you need.

I looked and tried most of them and nothing.

I found the problem, the mobo is not lining up with the standoffs even though they are in the right places for my mobo. Does anyone know how to fix that?

OK the standoffs are showing but I had to do a fair bit of squeezing and I am worried that will harm my mobo

Could be because of the I/O shield pushing the mobo back a bit. A few milimeters is no prob. But be sure that the standoff are in the actuall correct places then for your mobo size (ATX)

Yeah everything is fine except one last problem. Should I connect the fans for my AIO to the pump headers or the headers on my Asus mobo?

If there is a splitter type connection you can use that, because your probably connect that to the CPU fan header on the Asus mobo.

 

So AIO fan headers > Splitter cable, Y cable or wahtever the name they have given it > CPU fan header mobo. Don't forget that the splitter might also have a molex connection for power.

last thing my hard drive is not showing up in file explorer how would I create a useable drive for it???

Need more details. Specs. You did a fresh install? Why you think it runs slow?

I did a fresh install and I have 16gb of ram, a Samsung 850 evo, and an Intel i5 6600K. A simple 32mb download took 15 minutes... I have all the drivers so what could it be???

download depends on internet speed.

That talks about your internet not your computer

OK it just felt slower than it should.

Asume windows 10. So could be updates downloading. What is taskmanager saying about internet usage? And what processes use bandwith?

I have an Ethernet connection and so far windows has not asked to update yet. What drivers would I need to install?

Have you formatted your hdd and ssd? If they are brand new you wont be able to actually use them until you do that through Computer Management-->Storage-->Disk Management.

Start-->Settings-->Updates and Security-->(top on the left) Windows update-->(grey box) check updates

Windows 10 updates automatically. So you have no option there if it starts downloading in the background. Also it installs some basic drivers, but for latest you should go to manufactors website for mobo and GPU.

 

Also what about the usage? And have you done speedtest? speedtest.net
