Internet speeds

I need some help. 

 

How come on speedtest my internet is 20-26 Mbps, yet when I try downloading a file, it starts at 1.1 gb per second, getting smaller and smaller all the way to 400 KB/s

 

Is this just because AT&T is bad or am I missing something

1.1Gbps???

Do you have idea how fast that is?

What are you using to measure the download speed?

 

The speed of your hard drive and the speed of the download server can be bottlenecks, just because you have 20Mbps internet does not mean downloading files will be that speed.

There is a difference between GB, and Gb, bytes, and bits. 1GB is 8 times more then 1Gb.
