Hey guys :)

Just wanted to ask for an opinion or two because I'm trying to decide what keyboard to go for atm, and I think I know what I want but... I was hoping for perhaps an opinion for things like the quality etc of both keyboards perhaps?

Option 1 - L I N K

Option 2 - L I N K

Also... for anyone that owns the keyboard listed in Option 1, could someone please explain what the heck those 2 buttons in the top right do? That's the one thing that's holding me back from buying it, I 101%, DO NOT and repeat do not want them there.

Am kind of wanting Option 2 but was hoping for perhaps an RGB Version with not much extra cost and yes I do want to keep Cherry MX Browns preferably. I do not want ANY Additional/keys and Macro Keys either. Must be available to buy in the UK (Please don't link to the US Store :P).

Any other options if not either of the two above? Budget is roughly £0-£130 max for the keyboard.

Thanks guys!

~Xiauj

Ok cool, do you know however, what those buttons do..? The 2 buttons in the very top right part of the keyboard?

I believe those two buttons at the top of the strafe are for back light brightness and locking the Windows button. I used to use option 2 in that exact config (U.S. layout though) and I can tell you it's really awesome. Then again Corsair is known for their stellar keyboards as well. It's really up to you if you want to spend more for more functionality and RGB, or keep it smaller and save some money.

Do you know if there is perhaps a way to disable those buttons permanently..?

The reason they are holding me back is because I'd be constantly using them and it would bug me xD

EDIT: I guess the brightness key is fine, but the Windows one isn't.

I have a Corsair K95 that has those button too. Those are indeed for setting the LED brightness and disabling the windows key. I do not know any way to disable them.

I don't think so, if you don't want extra buttons I'd probably sacrifice the RGB and go with option 2. Maybe check out the Aukey KM-G3? RGB and no extra buttons on that board.

I dunno, the lighting button I can understand but like, why the need to lock Windows from the keyboard when I can just CTRL/ALT/DEL? lol, seems easier/more-of-a-wise choice to me instead of that anonymous key.

Because like, I also LOVE the look of the K70 RGB but look,

I can't help it, they would just seem useless to me :/

Yeah.... that's the 100% opposite of what I need lol, I wouldn't need ANY of those additional buttons on the left and in the top right.

Oh you can actually disable the Windows key? Oh good!

Do you guys perhaps know of that CoolerMaster keyboard (Option 2) but with RGB for a very similar price and layout and cherry mx browns? And no extra keys/macro keys of course? :P

If not then that's ok, I might go with that one I guess

i know little about it, all i know is you will have the same typing experience and a decent design, i dont like how the key arrangement specifically the arrow keys, they are combined with the number pad so that means you need to turn off num lock when you are using it.

Yeah I know, that's whats holding me back from that one too :/ It's the only other choice though.

Either that or do what a friend of mine suggested, which is to get a custom one made.

Or there is only one last possible option which is this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Backlit-Dimmable-Mechanical-Keyboard-Conflict/dp/B00UJ8XSFC?th=1

However.... I don't know if they produce ones with Cherry MX Browns or not, that's the problem.

What do you mean? Reckon they (The company who makes this keyboard) don't look good?

I guess it's either a Corsair keyboard or custom one then lol

for mechanical keyboards, I would check out dealsource.tech once a day for some pretty decent deals on a range of products as well as reddit forums. Used keyboards don't go for nearly as much as youd think. I got my k70 with cherry reds for 55 USD awhile back.

either one is great just depends on whether or not you'd rather have RGB customization or just a standard white color. Personally though I like corsair I really like how they feel plus they come with a wrist rest. The only thing I suggest is whatever one you decide on I'd suggest getting cherry MX o'rings for the keys. Even though they say they're quiet they're really not. While the sensitivity is awesome on the keys the loudness can get very annoying even if your wearing a headset and your friends hear it in certain mics to. But if your set on the 2 you've shown if you have the budget I'd go for the corsair. Here's my suggestions.

They come with plenty of spares so don't worry if you lose some of them. I personally own the strafe and I love the keyboard the only problem I sometimes have is with the CUE software. Other then that though corsair is normally pretty good on getting on issues.
