Watercooling or Tower cooling for cpu

João Teodoro

Guys what would you recomend? I want a "no maintenance" pc but also a good performing one, should i get kraken x61 or a good tower cpu cooler (probably be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3)? I'm going to get the phanteks enthoo evolv TG, if i go with a tower cooler im gonna put 3x120mm fans on top and in front, if i go with the x61 2x140 on top and 3x120 front, what do you guys recomend? My cpu is 4790k and currently i own a 3.5gb 970 strix (planning to get 1080). And i also want to keep the noise levels at minimum. Thx for any help.

i'd get the dark rock, looks sexy as hell especially with that tempered glass side panel and less points of failure

yeah, was thinking about it, but i also want it to cool my cpu, with my h100i i get max temps 79 with 4.8ghz 1.305V and i think that the dark rock cant keep up :/

If you really want NO MAINTENANCE (asides from dusting) than I would suggest an air cooler.
My main reason for this is because although AIO liquid coolers are good, they do suffer from performance degradation (unless you can change the liquid in it) but that would require maintenance. If you are getting adequate temps with air cooling, go with that

Currently i own the h100i but its giving me a lot of troubles, the pump makes a ratling noise and the fans that came with it are s*** which corsair says "if its cooling your cpu then its ok". Im probably going with the aircooler, i dont mind downclocking the cpu to meet my temps needs. Thanks for the help guys!
