no only on a mother board with socket LGA1150

No, it's only compatible with LGA1150 mobos.

you are limited to the Z97, H97, H87, Z87, B85 and H81 chipset based boards

 

 

DO NOT BUY any Z170, H170, B150 and H110 board!

 

 

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Any you will need a lga 1150 board that has support for the haswell (non refresh) chips, they should work on any lga 1150, but it could have issues on a newer lga 1150 board if the manufacturer didn't add support for them.

Pretty pointless cpu, just a 100MHz increase in baseclock speed, literally the only difference between that and a 4770.
