Crysis 1 optimization issues RX 480?

I'm not sure why but is crysis 1 just a poorly optimized game because no matter what settings i run it on it's just all jittery and inconsistent when it comes to framerates.

You're asking whether a game from 2007 is optimised to use a 2016 graphics card. Short answer: No. 

 

Crysis 1 was optimised for Geforce 8800 and 9800 series cards, and has always been meh on AMD.

i want to start from crysis 1 to 3 so what card should i purchase to play the game at 1080p med-high settings? I'm not asking to max it out just so that I can get a decent experience (consistent 60fps)

I'm able to max out Crysis with a GTX 1070. I think there might have been some FPS dips in the seaport level, though.

Crysis 1 is simply unmaxable. Crytek did good.

Ran fine on my 8350 with xfire 7970's, i even recorded it @ 60fps. Never went below 60 either. Runs even better on my 5960x/furyx of course. Hitting 100+ fps there.... so maybe ur system is just not good enough?

a rx480 should be just fine for this game.  I run crysis 3 on high with 60-100 fps on it so I'm not sure what's up

whats the specs of the rest of the system? Cuz im assuming here we're not talking about the system in ur profile...

i left my gaming pc at home and only have a school pc, It has an i7 4770, 32gb ddr3, rx 480 8gb xfx black edition

i just think it's the old engine and new hardware issue. Either that or the components don't agree with the game or something.

Well it should be running fine, so its either what you said or the school did something to it to stop you from gaming on it
