Pay the rest of the budget to get a better PSU and use the stock heatsink to save money, a cooler is included with the i5 6500.

What would be the benefit of wasting money on "GOLDEN" or "PLATINUM" PSU

EVGA 500B is all you need for a none overclocking CPU and a 1060 that you can't even SLI.

Even in the PCPartPicker it says it will only use 296W max.

It's not about efficiency rating, rather about the overall quality of the unit, this affect its longevity and overall performance. And who said the OP wasn't going to overclock his 1060?

lol this is EVGA we're talking about, not some weird company that nobody knows, even if you're overclocking the 1060 it won't need anything more than a 500.

"overall performance" Didn't know PSU gives you more FPS, interesting...

Performance as in the parts actually being functional, not FPS.

Performance doesn't always mean system performance, seriously.

Are you saying the EVGA 500B puts your other components at risk?

and for what reason is this PSU specifically would be a risk?

It's quality. It's simple as that. You don't put a Green CX with a 4690k and a 290. That's just asking for trouble.
