Hello guys. I wanted to know if there are Routers With Docsis 3.0/3.1. I'm currently with Virgin Media and their router sucks. It's really bad. I've 2 already and this is completely messed up. I can't get 5Ghz to work on any of my devices, Sometimes I lose connection, forcing me to restart the router.

Get a separate modem and router. Don't use combo units. I have an SB6141 with an Asus RT-AC55U

Theres plenty of options of modems available. What tier of download/upload speed to you have?

The router itself is router and modem..

BTW, It's from google, similar router.

Also, I've got a crappy WRT160N, Really bad Wifi speeds. Speeds that I get are 60mbps down and 5 mbps up.

EDIT: These are the speeds I'm getting

All in one units are always fairly crappy. I'd suggest a SB6183 for the modem. Then just get whatever Wireless router you find decent.

The sb6183 is a docsis 3.0 modem with 16 downstream and 4 upstream channels for bonding. Its fairly future proof until docsis 3.1 rolls out. There aren't any mass produced units yet or any ISPs that have rolled out docsis 3.1 on a large scale, it's mostly still in the testing and evaluation phase.

Would It work with Virgin Media? :/

Ooops just noticed you weren't located in the US. Unfortunately it seems Virgin Media wont allow you to buy your own modem. You can however put their provided modem in bridge mode. Bridge mode turns off the router portion and only makes your unit a modem. They call it 'modem mode' on their website: https://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=27555&CURRENT_CMD=SEARCH&CONFIGURATION=1001&PARTITION_ID=1&USERTYPE=1&LANGUAGE=en&COUNTY=us&VM_CUSTOMER_TYPE=Cable

I'd recommend asking them to swap out your router with a newer one, since you pay a monthly rental rate? From there, just buy your own wireless modem once their router is in bridge mode.

Oh. :( Only one problem. I've got the WRT160N and the speeds are really bad with it.

Buy a new wireless router? How much are you willing to spend? You can also look into DDWRT but YMMV.
