"System low on memory" when rendering in 4k

When I try to render 4k in sony vegas, it says "System low on memory". I have 32 GB of ram and only 22% is in use. What is happening?

9.1 gb of ram is commited. what does that mean?

also suggested is switching from cpu rendering to gpu rendering , this mite be worth a test... eg rendering one test file in cpu and same test file gpu and see which is quickest

How do I do that? My CPU is 6700k and GPU is GTX 1070 STRIX

Nvm guys I rendered it in 1440p preset and it worked. I probably got the settings wrong or something
