A single GTX 1070 would be the best choice. You have to remember that Crossfire (or SLI) will potentially yield undesirable issues.

In the future, I'd advise against making thread titles like these as it is against the Community Standards:

Hey Guys/ Girls,

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card and was stuck with a few options which I'd like to get your opinion on. Ignore factory overclock cards etc, would it be more beneficial to get 2x RX 480s or a GTX 1060/ 1070.

Thanks In Advance

1070.

A single more powerful card will be a much better option than multiple lower power cards, and you won't have any issues with SLI/Crossfire support or scaling.

I'm going to defend the 1060 as a short term card for people like me who are waiting for VR to mature and waiting for the midrange to produce decent benchmarks in UHD. As others have said stay away from multi card setups. save your money for an upgrade card next year. Most games are made for the midrange so if you keep updating your midrange card every year (and sell your old card) you actually end up with a gaming computer that can play high graphics settings and all the modern games for the same amount of money you would throw away on a playstation plus subscription.

Two 1070s in SLI is better than 1080. It's a fair question that people ask and has multiple variables. People are telling him that a single 1070 is better than 480 in SLI, not the other way around. Your post was completely irrelevant.

Unfortunately 1070s in SLI arent the same as 480s in xfire. so yes, my post was very relevant

a 1070 would do you best so you dont have to deal with any problems that come with crossfire/SLI

Two RX 480s could look cooler in the build, but the performance the 1070 gives with it's inherent reliability as a single GPU vs multiple GPUs is the better choice.

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB
