I'm going to be purchasing my computer within the next fortnight and I'm not the gamer that plays games like The Witcher etc. Games such as CS:GO, Rocket League. Battlefield 1, Overwatch,  Dead By Daylight, Killing Floor 2, Battlerite Doom (Maybe), FIFA 17, NBA 2K17 are games that I currently own. I was thinking maybe I'd buy a card that could run the games I play at max settings 1080p but i had a few friends telling me there really isn't any point doing that since technology keeps evolving but I'm not one that's really into playing every single game since I'm not an avid gamer, I'm a casual gamer but I would still love to play games at max settings 1080p.. I'll be purchasing 2 monitors but not going for 144hz (60hz is enough for me).

What are the go to/best cards everyone gets to max games out at 1080p?

The GTX 1060 6GB is essentially my go-to 1080p card now but since you're purchasing new monitors, I'd probably grab a RX 480 8GB with two FreeSync monitors (or just one).

I would also like to mention I've never been with any other company but NVIDIA.. the 1060 is in my current list at the moment but i just want to add some finishing touches and make sure everything is settled.

1 monitor would be used for gaming anyways, the other one would be just for web browsing/skype/teamspeak/general stuff etc while gaming etc.

Hey, why restrict yourself to one company? Pick the card that suits you best and IMO, that would be AMD's offering.

I would be thinking about having a FreeSync monitor as your main 'gaming' monitor and a nice secondary IPS monitor for general productivity.

It depends really.

The RX1060/3gb or RX 470 is actually find for your needs and will let you play almost every game maxed out. The 1060 will max everything out no problem. The 470 might need shadows or AA turned down in some more demanding titles.
If you have a little more to spend, get the RX 480 (4gb is actually ok for this one) or 1060/6gb.

Just don't forget that you're on a PC so settings can be reduced.
The upcoming GTX 1050ti will be fine for stuff like csgo, bf1 (high but probably not ultra), and any moba games.

If you're not a huge gamer and just want to be able to comfortably play some games, you can easily get away with a RX460/470/1050ti.

I just played Crysis 3 on an old R9 6970 quite comfortably at 60fps with about 70% settings.

TLDR, if you want to max everything at 1080p you need an RX480 or gtx 1060 3gb minimum.

I would get GTX 1060 and turn on v-sync on gaming monitor.

It seems to be just fine for me :)

But to be fair, I didn't had the chance to try out freesync.

For 1080p, even GTX 1060 3GB version should be just fine.

Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 140mm fans

WD My Cloud 4TB

I want everything maxed at 1080p.

I wanna get 2 of the same monitors just so I can keep the setup fresh and "themed".
