If you're a college student, I feel like the most important thing to consider is the battery life. My work day usually goes from 10am until 6pm, and sometimes even 8pm, so I have 8 to 10 hours to spend without a wall charger.
Also, I thought that buying a gaming PC was a good idea. I bought a Mac for the battery life (have a "gaming laptop" home), but I don't have time to play anymore and I'm only one month in x)

Edit :
The most important thing I'd look after is build quality (it could fall off at any given moment),

battery life

Please get something that doesn't use its fans from the moment you booted it up, it's really annoying

Also SSD is the way to go, IMO.

Hope this helps :)

well if your going to take it to class I would recommend getting a cheap light laptop and a desk top but if you dont have the room for both you can get something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834234299&cm_re=asus_gaming_laptop-_-34-234-299-_-Product

  • Up to 5 hours battery life

that why I recommend something like a Surface Pro

I had a Big laptop going to school and hated it and eventually switched to a surface pro 3 and built a custom desktop.

I would get the Pro 3 i5 256gb version just because it will be cheaper and the pro 4 is basically the same

no that is very wrong. The i5 version of the SP4 is more powerful than the i7 version of the SP3. It is not by much, but it is a tiny bit better.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

If going for surface, they will have an event in 5 days. Maybe wait there and see what they have to offer. If there is a new surface coming out, just hunt for a surface 4 if it gets cheaper afterwards. or not :D

✌?️✌?️Sure will wait for it

Is xps 15 that good to use as daily driver !?!?

it is build fairly well, it is slim and sexy and dell support is great. It isn't that powerful, but plenty for light games and more normal games, if a GTX 750ti can run the game then a 960m can run the game and it is much more powerful than any Sureface Pro 4.
