CSGO FPS issues w/ 1080?

iKl9kca

No matter the settings i can never get 250+ FPS and im running a i7-6700 and GTX 1080, what could be the issue? ive seen benchmarks hit 500 average on 4:3 1280x1024 all high

Why does it even matter?

Make sure your max FPS cap is unlocked.

There is command in console for that.

250 max is kinda low I have to admit. I am getting around 300 with 1060 and 4770k.

Not sure what is going on here.

At 1080p maxed out.

Do you have issues in other games or is it just CSGO?

Do you have a 480Hz monitor?

If you don't, why be concerned? Any FPS over your max monitor refresh are wasted work out of your system

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

It's most likely your GPU only being at 40-60% load because it's too easy of a game for your 1080 to run that it just doesn't use you GPU to the fullest.

still in a DX9 game with CPU intensiveness wouldnt my i7-6700 be preforming better?

Ok, you guys seem confident that I'm wrong in saying that higher fps won't matter, but I cannot think of a way to objectively test for that so I'll see myself out.

I still think a lot of problems come from considering an issue something that is not such.

I have also 6700k and gtx 1080 and u get over 250fps on 1440p. But my GPU is going on 50% maybe and I am sure yours is too.

Whatever Energycore said is true. Unless you have higher fps monitor, you are not gonna see the difference. I have 165hz capped at 180fps because there is no point why my GPU should be trying harder (higher temps->higher noise, coil whine with high fps).

But try it for yourself, if you have 60hz monitor, cap it at 100fps and you'll see there is no difference. The only thing you don't wanna do is cap it at 60fps because csgo gets laggy with it for some reason.

Ok first of all even valve said the game engine runs more smoother at 300fps

theres less frame time lag and hits are logged faster

secondly go to the nvdia controll panel and in global set ur gpu to prefer max performance
