I need help on my current build I will be building on my birthday, I'm hoping to buy a i5-6600k and I already own a 960 4gb msi, is this a good purchase to run most games? I want to play h1z1 king of the kill on high settings with smooth frame rates that don't drop, this comes the same with most other games but mainly h1.

Also, I really need a cheap but good case under £100 that can fit most motherboards, led's, good build, and lots of room for wiring.

All help would be much appreicated.

Cpu looks good, should run most games at high with smooth rates. GPU however will most likely not.

What is your current CPU?

CPU - i7-4790k | CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken X53 | Motherboard -  Asus Gyphon Z97 Armour Edition | RAM - Corsair Vengeance (2x8GB) 2400Mhz | Graphics Card - MSI GTX 1070 | Power Supply - Corsair CS750M | Storage - Seagate 1TB HDD | Samsung 500GB 850 Evo | Case - Fractal Design ARC Mini R2 | Colour Theme - Generic Red & Black

Operating System - Windows 10 Pro | Peripherals - Corsair RGB Mechanical K70 Keyboard/Corsair M65 Mouse

What is your current CPU?

Laughable CPU mate, AMD Athlon x4 750k quad core. 4.0ghz, now can you see why I want to upgrade:)

that gpu is pretty meh to okay nowdays, i would do it but it would be the first thing to upgrade.

this is its performance in h1z1 king of the kill. pretty doable i think, performance will be the same with an i5-6600k.

for most modern AAA games it falls pretty short, for example GTA V (no textures beyond medium without compromising other settings on 2gb, 4gb is probably higher but not max) or DOOM which is pretty well optimized but struggles to keep 60fps at times.

I see. I misread, I thought you had the i5.

Either way, for ultra and high FPS, you're most likely gonna want a new GPU too.

I recommend i5 6500+gtx 1060 instead of 6600k+gtx 960.

Phanteks p400s and Fractal design define s or r5 is my recommendation.

I can't afford a new graphics card yet, I'll have to make do with my current one until I save up,

as for the cases, I'm sold. Thanks

I struggle to run h1z1 at the moment although I have an awful CPU, the game is a CPU intensive game so I thought maybe an 6500k would do the trick?

yes it definitly is enough. depending on the gpu this is the very least fps you'll get: around 90fps most of the time

Guys I'm so sorry, ive only just realised that I meant to write i5-6600k rather than the 6500k. Much difference? ??
