Xfinity Modem Help

Just to make sure, you can run an Ethernet cable off your router to your computer and still have the router broadcast the wireless connection right? The Xfinity Modem/Router I have right now has a "broadcasting ability" aka a router inside of it. Just an fyi.

also, will the internet connection be altered in any way if i connect it to my pc via Ethernet. Like will the wireless connection become slower?

YES. YES IT WILL

 

Think of your internet connection as your water main. Your PC is the water hose. It's not running all the time, it only lets out water when you make it. If you are running your water hose (downloading), less water will be able to flow to other faucets/toilets.

What I meant was that if I downloaded something wirelessy, it would be the same as downloading something via Ethernet cable.

Yes, but ethernet is more reliable and generally faster.
