Re-Promote posts?

RadiatingLight

Some posts have zero replies. sometimes, this is because the topic is hard to answer, and the people who know how to solve the issue aren't online, but sometimes questions get posted at the wrong time, and just slip through the cracks. In my opinion, users should have the ability to re-promote a post (bring it to the top of the righthand post list) if needed. since posts with no replies are rare, and to prevent spam, maybe for every 10-20 posts you get 1 re-promote.

We don't like to see that either generally but then again it happens extremely rarely here.  Regardless, that doesn't put it back in recent topics which most people watch exclusively.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

You may bump a thread if you do not get a reply within 24 hours after posting.

bump a thread how? from my knowledge, bumping a thread doesn't bring it back to the recent topics list

It doesn't, but in the sub-forum, it takes it back to the top.

Whenever I bump a thread, I either post something additional such as

I also tried reinstalling my graphics drivers, and it still doesn't work.

Or a photo of something with a bump, like this

Most people do it after 30 mins. It should be less than an hour

Why? There isn't any subforum which would drop new thread from 1st page in 12h. GD is exception because of massive post dumping rate.

Plus as its already said, bumping won't make thread re-appear in Recent listing. Not unless you have made Activity feed for all recent posts in forum. Which, atm, doesn't have option to show only newly created threads.
