What is ADSL2+

Hi all,

Just wandering because lots of people have been talking about this, what is  ADSL2+ internet? Is it like a type of internet or router? Thanks in advanced!

It is the same kind of naming scheme as doscis 3.0 is to cable modems, except it is DSL based. I believe it maxes out around 24mbs.

It's a method (algorithm) of encoding bits of information to go on telephone lines between your modem in your house and the modem at the ISP side, using frequencies above the frequencies normally used for voice.

 

It stands for "asymmetric digital subscriber line 2+"  (asymmetric because download and upload bandwidth are not equal) and you can read more about adsl here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asymmetric_digital_subscriber_line
