Not getting full network bandwidth (This is different)

I've recently noticed in the past few days that my laptop isn't pulling in the full 1 Mbps internet that I am paying for. Before this, I would get a good 1 Mbps download speed showing up on Task Manager. Now, my laptop doesn't want to pull in so much bandwidth anymore (even though its just 1 Mbps). I could feel this effect a lot when playing games such as Diep.io and surfing the web feels way more sluggish than beforel. I get the 1 Mbps speed occasionally now and my sister's phone gets nearly all the bandwidth when she connects compared to the past where my laptop's bandwidth capturing was way more overpowered. Now, I am forced to cut her off using the MAC address filtering once in a while. I've also noticed that there are 8 more devices under "Network Adapters" in Device Manager compared to when there was only the first 2. Could these 8 new devices be the ones causing the problems?

Wireless or Cable?

Btw why not upgrade to 2MB or 4MB? Better speed/RM and only slightly more expensive if your area didn't support Unifi.

Wireless. My mom doesn't want to although its just like RM10 difference to 2 Mbps. She says it makes me spend more time on the computer. I know, where's the logic right? Getting faster speeds would improve my productivity and decrease the time I spend on my computer, but she doesn't wanna hear it. :(

No, those devices won't slow down your network card. they're like plugins in a movie or audio player or like add-ons/extensions in a browser, they become active when an application needs them and stay turned off otherwise.

IPv6 could in theory cause slowdown if somewhere along the line something still doesn't work right with ipv6... you could experiment by disabling ipv6 in your network configuration.

Restarting the router/modem the ISP gave you could also help. Reconfiguring it to use a less used wireless channel could also help.. see tools like InSSIDer http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5936-inssider.html

I'll try the IPv6 method. I've restarted my router multiple times and chose the best channel for my area, in my case, Channel 11.
