Right now i have the below specs.

Intel Core i5-3450 CPU @3.10 GHz
Asus P8B75-M LE Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA Geforce GTX 950
Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
PC Power & Cooling Silencer MK III 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Sony AD-7280S-0B DVD/CD Writer

I want to switch to a smaller micro-atx build any chance the graphics card, power supply etc etc would fit in a micro case. Would i need a new processor even if i bought a new motherboard?

what Motherboards and would you suggest as well as a case?

Yes, they should fit. Just make sure the case is not a "low profile" case.

If it's not an LGA1155 board, you will.

I'll let someone else handle this part. :)

Keep the mobo you have now and just look at cube cases, if you're sticking with the dvd drive too you'll need one with a 5.25" bay in it.

Any cube cases you'd recommend?

So i can basically keep all of my specs besides my case?

I'm starting a mini ITX build in this

with a EVGA 980 and 750watt PSU. I would have went smaller but my PSU was to big and I just got that thing.

There's too many case out there really, I currently use the Thermaltake core v21 mATX and it's pretty nice. But comes down to taste.

The biggest part of your build would be the gtx950, not sure how big that is, but pretty sure it should fit.

It's still under construction. I'm going to use a Corsair H60 on the processor to save room but I'm not overly concerned. My GPU will intake directly from the side panel and the extra 120 on the H60, giant 200 and 2 80s in the back should move air good. also PSU intakes from bottom. I will be posting pics but it will be a while. I have the case, RAM, GPU and PSU already and I ordered the H60 but I haven't bought the CPU or main board yet. I just busted down my old one to sell off the old stuff in it MB CPU and Case. It is a dinosaur, a Gigabyte 3D aurora. I'll be glad it's gone but hate to see it go. I've used that same case for 7 years i think and not a single broken part. Nothing.

There's loads of space, airflow is one of the best I have ever used... I am only using the included 200mm fan for intake, and a 120mm radiator with fan, and a 140mm fan for exhaust. I have OC'd my i7 6700k to 4.7Ghz and idle at approx 4C above ambient, approx 45-50c above ambient under full load stress test, with spikes into the low 80s (approx 60 over ambient).

Thanks man. Great to know I can still use all if not most of my current build in this case. This will definitely help my downsize my case.

No worries... the downside is no space for the dvd drive, I have my blu-ray writer in a USB 3.0 5.25" enclosure, but it's expensive. So if you don't really need the dvd writer there's no problem, but if you do with this case you need some kind of workaround. IMO it's easier to just not bother with a dvd drive, but if you really need one, just buy a USB one it'll be cheaper than getting an enclosure etc for it.

The motherboard in your list already says "micro-ATX" so you don't actually need to change anything except the case. Just make sure that any mATX case you get is not "low-profile" or "slimline"

Something like a Corsair 350D or similar.

If you want to go even smaller, you could get a mini-ITX motherboard such as:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131878

and put all your stuff into a Corsair 250D ITX case. (The 250D would accept all of your components except the motherboard.)

Before i do all of this. I have windows 7 and thinking about doing an install of windows 10 home. Anything I should do beforehand before trying to install a new OS?

That depends a bit upon, if you actually do change the motherboard, and if you have the OEM version of Windows 7, and if you plan to upgrade Windows 7 or do a fresh install of Windows 10.

If you have an OEM version of Windows 7, it is mainly tied to your motherboard, so if you change the motherboard, you may have some trouble getting Win 7 "authenticated".

If you keep the same motherboard and just change the case, there would be no affect on your OS install.

The only consideration with Windows 10 is that some older software may not like it. In my case, my video editor won't work in Windows 10.

So, just the usual - back up anything important. I'm tempted to say, don't upgrade to Windows 10 unless you really want to. I find that Windows 10, while nice in some ways, is a real PIA when it comes to constant upgrades and notification.

(NO! I don't want to try Office 365 and stop f'n asking me.)

No windows 7 is not tied to this motherboard. I built this computer 3-4 years ago for Battlfield 3 and installed my previous copy of windows 7 on it. It would be fresh install of windows 10
