This is my first build in which I am buying all new parts (I have built\rebuilt pc's from scrap pc's before.) I am mainly looking for compatibility issues that I may be overlooking. It will be used for Video Editing and Gaming.

The parts marked as purchased are coming from my current frankenPC

Please let me know if there is anything else I need to take into consideration.

I always check these lists for ram compatibility. Every reputable manufacturer puts these out. Make sure its the exact board you chose. And yes better PSU say EVGA.  https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/

Mostly though ram tends to work as long as it's the same type as specs. call for, but why take chances.

I have been using the PSU for a year now in my current build and it has been fine for me. But I will consider it if works in the budget.

just remember that you should never cheap out on a PSU, it might work fine in the start, but then it might fry your parts

When a PSU stops "working fine" then many things go wrong. Like dead PC parts. Or a house fire.

It can stop "working fine" tomorrow, or in 5 years. But you do not want it to get to that point because bad stuff happens.

Just replace it asap.

What would you recommend then? Telling me to "Just replace it asap." Isn't very informative. I understand Thermaltake isn't the best brand ever, but it is far from the worst.

Well, there are several posts on the internet from people having fires start from their thermaltake PSU....

EVGA and seasonic make very good PSUs.
