ASUS P5Q-EM Motherboard + ssd

I have an old p5q-em mother board with a q9400 quad core processor i want to give to a friend, i also have an old 60gb ocz vertex plus that i want to put into the system for him as well, will the ssd work being a g45 chip set?

I run a 128gig ssd in a g43 system with Windows 8. It's fast.

Yes it will work, it should make that Q9400 quite speedy.

I have a P5Q pro mobo which uses the same chipset with a Q9550 and an Kingston hyperx 3k 120gb ssd hooked up to it. Works like a charm.
