Posted March 11, 2013 Why 3 7850s ? Why not just two 7870 XT cards ? I would imagine scaling wouldn't be very good past 2 cards. Each 7850 card has 1024 processing units so 3 would have 3072 processors. Each 7870 XT card has 1536 processing units so two would have 3072, also each card costs just 250$ so two would cost 500$.
