Mouse and white surfaces

HI guys so i got a logitech g502 and i tried on a white peace of paper and the paper is on my black mouse pad and my mouse doesn't mouve at all but when its on my white ( not perfect white ) table my mouse moves normally.

Is the mouse pad glossy? Have you tried to tune the mouse through Logitech Gaming Software?

JUst one thing its not an issue i just want to understang my mousepad is black matt and come from logitech

Optical and laser mice rely on "seeing" the surface and then calculating the movement distance and speed. The paper may be uniform enough that the sensor doesn't "see" it.

it's not about white color. it's the material.

each different materials will have frictions between them which is a force mthat makes them faster or slower
