  1. 1. What is the better option?

    • Get the same exact kit of the current RAM I have (+8GB RAM)

    • Get a full new 16GB kit
      2

Hey guys! I'd like to upgrade the RAM in my pc from 8GB DDR3 to 16GB.

What is the best option? Get the same exact kit of the current RAM I have, or buy a full new kit? (and sell the old kit)

Just add another one no need to buy 24GB if you only want 16GB

The current kit I have is pretty expensive though. It costs 65 euro's new, without shipping (around 69 euro's total)

Still cheaper then buying either 16 in a new two stick config, or 4 other sticks in a 4x4 config.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

But that wouldn't make a difference to make it worth the trouble, plus you would be ram-less for a bit. It sounds like what you want is a solution for upgrading but spending less then $69 EU. But if that's the case just pick any cheap 16 DDr3 ram config, there isn't going to be a huge difference since the mobo will only support certain clock speeds (Unless you overclock and it allows it) Or just pony up the cash and get two more sticks.
