Posted October 12, 2016 If you already have 8 GB of nice RAM, there's no need to throw it away, buy another identical kit, and install it appropriately. Posted October 12, 2016 Author The current kit I have is pretty expensive though. It costs 65 euro's new, without shipping (around 69 euro's total) Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives) Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/674695-ram-upgrade/#findComment-8689086 Share on other sites
 I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself FULL PC SPECS ON PROFILE https://linustechtips.com/main/profile/454099-thinkfreely/ Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/674695-ram-upgrade/#findComment-8689112 Share on other sites
 But that wouldn't make a difference to make it worth the trouble, plus you would be ram-less for a bit. It sounds like what you want is a solution for upgrading but spending less then $69 EU. But if that's the case just pick any cheap 16 DDr3 ram config, there isn't going to be a huge difference since the mobo will only support certain clock speeds (Unless you overclock and it allows it) Or just pony up the cash and get two more sticks.
