Laptops worth buying are ultrabooks and for the use of school/work only for the sake of their long battery life and portability.

Desktop is for everything else, and unless your budget is under 300$ you build a desktop.

Never, ever use a laptop for gaming. It'll get hot, run much slower and be more expensive. Unless you move a lot or want to game while you're in the toilet, get a desktop.

desktop is a more powerful solution, but not portable at all. if your at university or high school this may be an issue. laptops are less powerful but are portable.

desktops are upgrade able as well, so in theory they can last forever.

i personally prefare desktops as i do allot of gaming and CAD so the extra power is needed

there are many viable gaming laptops, and not everyone wants to play crysis and star citizen

A desktop is the best option, because is cheaper and won't overheat in half an hour. If you want about the same performance on a laptop that you get on a desktop, you have to pay about twice the price. We'll have a better idea what you're looking for if you give us an actual budget you have to spend.

? comes nowhere close a titan or 780 desktop.

neither does the portability vs a solution like this

I know, it was more of a joke. Still, how the hell does one battery power a 3930K?
