Currently running idle CPU temps at 24C and MB at 29C.... I'm not sure if the variance of temps between the two is normal. This is my first build. when I initially installed the OS and drivers it was running @ 31/33 but once I ran bios and optimized my fans it's been putting out these lower temps. When I run low demand programs like steam while it's installing games, iTunes, and this website all at the same time it will increase to 31/33ish. when I run iTunes and low FPS games at the same time it still runs these temps, its topping at maybe 34/36. are these decent temps? I don't have any high demand games yet because I only have an r7 250 at the moment I have a case that has a lot of ventilation. my fans are 1 120mm front bottom, 120mm front 3.5 bay, 200mm side, 2x120mm push/pull liquid cooling for a AMD 9590 on a 990FXA gaming Mobo, help plz.

Edit: ran idle in bios for about 20 minutes, 21/24... running cooler than my house temps? wtf is this normal?

Water is a good heat conductor. Idle temps dont really matter that much unless its super high. Yes those are normal

iirc AMD chips measure the difference between their temperature and their maximum temperature... I am probably wrong, but I remember seeing that somewhere.

To or from the max temp? I don't see how it would be like that if during monitoring it's showing it's running lower at idle and higher during multitasking... if that was true wouldn't it be backwards? bit confused.

It's one of the two... basically, AMD's current gen chips calculate their temperature based on load and thermals. I could be spewing complete bullshit but that's what I remember. Anything in these two posts is subject to change.
