Thinking to moving from AIO

MrKat

Hey,

I have a Nepton 280L and the pump is f***ing annoying loud with its high pitched whine from the pump. I am thinking of going to air cooling. I am on a 6700k and I do not to really look to overclock it so it just stays at 4.00 GHz. I want a good cooler, preferably 140mm. Clearance: CPU Cooler 153mm / 183mm without fan. Something quiet, possibly black radiator for best performance?

The first one that comes to mind would be the Dark Rock pro 3, another that would fit those needs could be the Cryorig Ultimate R1.

Some good options are the

Pure Rcok: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/cwPzK8/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009

or Kotetsu: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/7998TW/scythe-cpu-cooler-scktt1000

you linked same cooler

Whoops. I fixed the link. At least the name of the cooler was there.

You don't need a larger cooler unless you're planning to push high oc's.

Well Not to be rude to the cooler :^, Its ugly tho. The Coolermaster masterair maker 8 looks very cool so maybe that. The 280L cost 100 quid. Maker 8 also the same price.

Looks are subjective so I'm not sure what looks good to you.

I think the two look pretty sleek.

You could get a Fuma: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/dVwqqs/scythe-cpu-cooler-scfm1000

If you dig the look of two fans, you could just add another to a single tower since most of them include brackets for an additional fan.

If you want something along the lines of a black anodized heatsink, you can mask off and spray paint the top plate and get pretty close. I did this here with the NH-D14:

and here with a Thor's Hammer: https://www.instagram.com/p/BCr7K7-uonB/?taken-by=woodenmarker

I also have that case i am using a NH-D15 right now and love it. I would recommend that but if you want it to be black then go with the bequiet equivalent.
