They seems to be very long at a medium price point so I would probably need like 3 strips so will cost me 45 pounds whilst the hue will be 30 pounds so would it be better to go for the hue ?

i actually don`t know but l have seen quite alot of pictures where it looks really good. (can`t get a good answer because im having dinner, but i can help you in 10-15 min)

i actually don't know anything except NZXT HUE

NZXT sells single colored LED strips $10 for 1M length and $15 for 2M length. then there is the NZXT HUE which is good if you want to be able to change the color at will but cost $30. Then the bitfenix alchemy strips witch are about $30 for 60cm. all options look great just google image search to see builds using them if you want to compare.
