Back on topic, the monitor looks fine.  DVI only, but as long as you planned on that, you're fine.  It's not much to look at, but seems to deliver good performance based on the reviews.

You don't see monitors with high refresh rate at low "budget" resolutions because they are not in demand, it's not because it's impossible for some reason. 1680×1050 was the last "1080p" of resolutions, so older 120 Hz monitors had that resolution. Now they have 1080p.

Not sure what you mean, VGA is perfectly capable of 120 Hz.

It certainly can. The FW900 could go 2304×1440 at 80 Hz with VGA, and that takes a fair bit more bandwidth than 1680×1050 at 120 Hz.
