Hi Forum.

Today I started to overclock my CPU from 4.3Ghz to 4.4Ghz

i5 4690k at 1.2 Volts

MSI z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard.

4.3Ghz Temps are from 24C (idle) to 40C (normal everyday use load with gaming)

4.4Ghz Temps are from 28C (idle) to 76C (Prime95 Stress tested, results below)

I thought to myself, well my temps seems to be low at 4.3Ghz even while gaming etc, perhaps I could give it a boost to 4.4Ghz, tested it for 22 mins. Results are stable

I'm running an AIO liquid cooler (H110i GTX 140mm) with 2x (nf-a14-industrialppc-3000-pwm fans)

I have not yet tested my everyday load usage on 4.4Ghz like I've done with the 4.3Ghz but im pretty sure the temps would be equal.

*to clarify, everyday load usage such as running games, FPS, MMORPG's, Video edit etc*

Results of Prime95

So this is my question:

Is it worth it for me to run a custom liquid cooled or stick with my AIO liquid cooler and would the temps be any different from what it is now? ^_^

You should not run Prime95. Use IBT instead.

i'd stay at AIO for now.

I just got to say man that seems really low. My 4690k is running at 4.6-4.7 and thats on a 212 Evo. With a high temp in 46 when under load. What case are you using?

Hmm don't mean to sound like I'm picking but you may want to see if your chip goes further. Be weird if it didn't.

I could do but for right now I think i'll stick with 4.4Ghz, going a little higher won't really do much difference

Well I've used Prime95 in the past before and its the only program I feel ''safe'' with to stress test, I guess everyone has their own personal choice in what programs to use for their CPU.

There are a lot of programs to do this faster, slower etc, end of the day you'll ask the same question on any of these programs ''Is it stable?''
