I use one personally with my 5820k, it works really well, and also looks awesome. Has a built in RGB light you can set to whatever color you want.

He is looking for an air cooler/heatsink for a silent build, not an AIO.

The best air cooler you could buy would be the Noctua D-15, beats out a H100i in performance and noise for less.

Best budget solution:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/hJFPxr/deepcool-cpu-cooler-gammaxx400 (this plus an aftermarket fan like a Corsair SP120 quiet Edition)

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/dZNp99/corsair-case-fan-co9050007ww (not the LED ones, those aren't as good)

Best air cooling solution for your color theme:

Radiators are heatsinks. I do agree that AIOs are more noisy especially at idle.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

A cryorig R1 Ultimate has the same performance and price as the Noctua D-15 and looks way better.

I have it on my PC and it's amazing, check my build log in my subscription to see how it looks on a red/black pc (though my pc may be a bit unusual).

Someone once said: "Having a rollercoaster on a PC would be epic"

So threw a rollercoaster on my K'nex PC: Project Dragon Khan- K'nex rollercoaster PC build

It doesn't seem like the best value to spend so much on a cooler for a 6600k when that money could just go to a 6700k in the first place.

A more value oriented option would be a Pure Rock: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/cwPzK8/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009

If you want to scrap the idea of a good value, dig a black heatsink and want some nicer looking fan, a Megahalems: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/sc9KHx/prolimatech-cpu-cooler-promghbk

with an AF120 QE: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/PZNp99/corsair-case-fan-co9050001ww

or Magma Advance: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/kFBv6h/enermax-case-fan-ucmaa12a

The PH-TC14PE or DRP3 are also good options with the former performing better and being easier to install and the latter being quieter.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/wdkD4D/phanteks-cpu-cooler-phtc14pebk

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/9bFPxr/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk019

An easy way to achieve a black heatsink look is to just mask off and spray paint the top plate since the fins are usually not as well lit.

I did that here with the NH-D14.
