with AMD's eyefinity, you cannot use 3 "legacy" connectors (VGA, DVI, ect). You need 2 legacy and one new one (like displayport) or have 2 legacy connectors and one using a "active" adapter to something like displayport.

I had this exact problem a while back when I was running my triple monitor setup.

I don't know if that's the best option, what is your current setup with the cables? Like are you running 3 DVI's, or 2 DVI's with an adapter?

False, I use 3 DVI connectors and a VGA for a 4 monitor setup.  DVI is not considered legacy.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I had set up the scenario OP has with 3 DVI monitors. DVI, at least in the eyes of eyefinity, is considered legacy without an active adapter. It will not work with 3 DVI's, or in my case, I had tried 2 DVI's, with one using a displayport adapter. I had to get an active displayport adapter to get it to work properly with games on eyefinity. You can't tell me i'm wrong if I spent several hours researching in order to solve the exact problem on my own hardware.

make sure you quote me, I never saw your reply!

Thats interesting, I would assume it would work fine them. Are you trying to configure an eyefinity setup? When setting it up threw AMD Crimson, are all three monitors showing up? Is one monitor possibly showing up but grayed out?

You didn't do something right because I have 4 monitors right now (3 acer 23 inch monitors, and 1 acer projector), hooked up to some R9-290's and I only have DVI-D connections and the single VGA connection.  I use eyefinity with GTA-V regularly.

Edit: or I did something right.

Is that 290's, with an S, meaning plural?

Because its on a per GPU basis if I recall. If you did 2 connectors on one 290, and 2 on the other, it would work fine.

Well no video card I have ever seen has 3 DVI ports...  Maybe one of those older 3 slot designs, but that would have been it.

I had three DVI monitors, but I have only 2 DVI ports, I had tried a regular DVI-DP adapter, but its still viewed as a legacy connection unless you use an active DP adapter.

just wanted to say i made a spelling error in that reply (I've edited it since), I meant "active" adapter, not "adaptive".
