hello i was wondering if a i5 6600k bottleneck ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL OC

You may see a performance increase with an i7 if you are going for 144hz 1080p in demanding games but other than that the i5 6600k is a perfect match for the gtx 1070.

@Brooksie359 does it matter when i play on fallout 4 and skyrim

maybe a little but not enough to matter. you might see a 10 fps difference going to an i7 but again you will be at such high frame rates that it wont really matter. tbh i don't think skyrim and fallout are cpu intensive enough to get a benefit form an i7. unless you mod the crap out of them will alot of entities

Any i5 is a bottleneck for FO4. It benefits from i7s.

Despite the overwhelming number of 'no's in this thread, for 1080p 144Hz, the i5 6600K will bottleneck the GTX 1070 in games such as GTA V, Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 even when overclocked.

My advice is to get a locked i7 6700 instead.
