Does the graphics card work with the following build? Reason why I ask, I just built this PC and it will not boot up when the graphics card is in but it starts when I take it out so its either bad or it doesnt work with this build. Please tell me your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Did you plug the Pcie power connector(s) into the GPU itself? Is the GPU seated properly into the Pcie slot?

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

I see no reason whatsoever that this GPU wouldn't work. do you have a good enough PSU to run the computer with it installed? do you also have the proper power plugs installed in the GPU (it will not have enough power to run without them)? try reseating the unit and all its connectors. could just be a faulty connection.

RX480's did originally have power draw issues that were causing computers to crash and fail, but AMD supposedly released some update to fix that. maybe you have one of the faulty units that predates said update? maybe you just got a bad unit? no idea. but on the surface I see nothing that wouldn't work here.

GPU's are pretty universal nowadays. basically if it fits it should work.

unfortunately not, I may just go out and buy one locally and see.

even if it is in the pcie slot that your manual says to put it in you should still try another one of your slots to see if your primary slot is broken. its happened to my friends motherboard.

Did you plug the monitor into the RX 480?

It may sound like a stupid question, but I actually had a case where the customer plugged the monitor into the motherboard's graphics connector, even when the graphics card was in place. (He said it was because the motherboard had a VGA connector, but the graphics card didn't)

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

yeah my friend asked me if he was supposed to plug his monitor into the motherboard or the graphics card after I finished build his pc for him so i can definitely see someone making that type of mistake.

I actually tried it just in case. Still nothing.

The only other thing I could think of other than the hardwarehouse being broken is either the drivers aren't working correctly or you forgot to change the monitor input to the right input.

That's another good point. Make sure your monitor's input is set to the proper one (or auto-detect).

In fact, I spent a few minutes just a couple of days ago wondering why my secondary monitor had stopped working. I eventually determined that I must have accidentally hit the "Input" button (which is on the front) and switched it to VGA from DVI, which was what I was using.
