Hey, I'm helping a friend build his first gaming PC, I have built a few PC myself but I just wanted to see if any of you guys had built a PC in this range and had a good parts list or have any recommendations for parts. all in put is appreciated. Oh and by the way he already has the case so don't include that in any parts list.

Go with an i3 to start with a 1060 6GB. Get a 450-550W PSU. 8GB of RAM. Any case and motherboard that match and are good choices, i.e. don't get Z-series for non-K CPU's. Stock heatsink is fine to start with.

Honestly with that budget I would just get all the components but the GPU and get a gpu once they have save up enough money to get a decent one. Or just wait in general and build a pc when your friend has enough money to make a decent entry-level pc.
