For Christmas I will be getting a racing drone, I want to also put some FPV on it. I live in GA so there are trees all over the place, so i will usually fly it it high and above the trees. It would be nice to have a nice fpv that had good range. I would get the fat shark, but it is a lot of money almost as much as the drone its self, I was thinking about the Quanum Cyclops and upgrading it. What do you think?

You could get something like a vortex or a vendetta, but you also need the FPV equpiment and a radio setup.

What's your plan here? Build? Buy? Budget?

I was going to build your Cheap Drone setup and i was thinking about the  Quanum Cyclops with the Quanum Elite and dont know what camera just yet.

Okay. I need to update that list as you can get a better value. Goggles like the Cyclops or the Eachine vr007 are kinda cool and cheap packages, but they look ridiculous. The FOV is pretty good, especially compared to the cheaper Fatshark goggles like the Teleporter V5s.

Budget?

There's not much for budget stuff that really rivals the good stuff. A cheap zmr 250 pales in comparison to something nice like an Alien. Are you going to build or buy?

Yeah I'm putting together a better parts list right now.

Do you know how to fly mode 2? Do you have a decent amount of soldering experience?

Yah i would say i have good soldering experience, Just built a little 20 buck oscilloscope for fun. and the only drones i have flown are little toy that had no power so i dont know, but i got kinda good on they toys. The little drone would fly down when at full speed...

That's good enough. It's good that you know just how to control an aircraft in mode 2.

Almost done, going for a 180.

Edit: Got a tweaker 180 with MT2204 2300kv motors for $266 for just the aircraft no batteries, goggles, radio, or receiver.
