6700k issue?

Hello,

I have recently built a computer with an i7 6700k and a MSI Z170a SLI Plus motherboard. I was able to overclock my CPU to 4.4ghz and gave it 1.25Volts. Now the computer is dead and the only hint I could find is the EZ Debug led on the motherboard lighting up for CPU but everything else turns on (fans spin, lights turn on, etc.) What could be the problem with my cpu?

reset the uefi to default and try again, if that doesn't work, maybe you lost the silicon lottery and the 1.25 volts you gave the cpu was enough to somehow short it

Do both and then reseat the CPU.

Was it stable or was it just at 4.4ghz

@gtx1060=valueI tried can't access the bios because I can't even get a post

@wrathoftheturkey I tried earlier and just now and I still have the same issue

@Crossbred I took out my reset the CMOS, then put the CPU back in place

@EndriviaI was able to run Firestrike and Aida 64 while the CPU was running at 4.4ghz

How long did you run the Firestrike for, because i have seen some people run it for like 2-3 hours, but still isn't stable. Then once they try it in game the computer crashes.

@wrathoftheturkeyI will try it again. How long should I give it to drain?

@EndriviaI finished Firestrike and Time Spy, Ran Aida 64 for 15 minutes (Under 60C), and left it on for ~10 hours and nothing went wrong.

@wrathoftheturkeyI looked on my Motherboard and on the manual and couldn't find a Reset CMOS Switch or jumper
