Long story short, my power splitter partially caught fire, and looks like my fire hazard of a power supply (CX750m) is even more likely to catch fire now. I'm using the PC right now, and it is fine at the desktop, and low loads, but I tried starting up a game, and there was excessive buzzing coming from the PSU that I had never heard before, so I want tor replace it before it takes out the cpu or gpu...

 

I've got braided cables that work with my current PSU, and I was wondering if something like the EVGA G2 series would work with the same cables? If not I would like to know if there are reasonably priced corsair power supplies that would work with it.

 

I'd like to not spend more than $150 CAD if possible.

God damn, they are expensive... Only the referb units are in my price range for the rm series, and the reviews on it seem like they arrive as incomplete units without wires (woudnt be an issue for me though)
