Hey there, so yesterday and today my PC has been running as slow as I've ever seen, and I mean, after booting into Windows I cant even use the taskbar without the process crashing, now whenever I was able to get Task Manager up it showed that my disk usage was at 100% and it was always caused by windows services one way or another, however I couldn't find a way to disable them

Is it possible this is a virus? If so how do I go about removing it when I can barely use my pc?

If you have another computer, plug the hard drive/SSD into that and backup, then reinstall Windows.

I don't have another desktop and no way to connect the HDD to my laptop

this could be caused by a few things:

1. Drive failure (or the begginings thereof)

2. Virus (unlikely, but possible)

3. Recently installed software has stuff in your startup that you don't know about

4. Old windows install

In which case, there are a few solutions:

check out the startup tab of task manager, it lists everything that starts when you boot up, and its impact on time.

You can also run a virus scan (I recommend MalwareBytes)

Check your drive's health

Reinstall windows (Generally a good idea to do every now and then, it makes things smoother)

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

You could get a SATA>USB dock, but I'd check the drive health first as @Stardar1 said.

I wouldnt know, but I'd check startup processes and MalwareBytes first anyways.
