Hey all,

I'm looking to start playing Prison Architect but when I launch the game I get around 400fps, causing some tearing and coil whine. I'd like to limit it to 60 through VSync, but there's no option in the game's menu anywhere to limit the framerate or enable VSync. I tried what people on the Steam forums are saying and locking the framerate in AMD Crimson, but setting Wait For Vertical Refresh to Always Enabled and the FPS Target Control to 60 in Prison Architect's driver profile doesn't do anything to limit my framerate.

Does anyone know of any other way to either enable VSync or lock my framerate at 60 in Prison Architect?

I believe you can do it in the configs.

I found this; not sure if you've already tried or not.

In the AMD Catalyst Control Panel.
Games> Add Prison Architect and force Vsync.

i was expecting OP to rant about a 30FPS lock on the game, but i was instead deeply disappointed in the prison architect devs.

just gonna put this here as a last resort, if all else fails (like it did with sims 3 for me because EA got lazy) there's 3rd party programs that can launch with the necessary hooks to lock at any framerate you desire.

i personally use this one, but it's a bit of a kludge job so i recommend caution and only using it as a last resort.

If the game has a console I know it is possible to do it from there.

I don't think it does, sadly.

I am disappointed in them but not for that reason. I'd excuse it if the game way an Alpha or in Early Access, but c'mon guys, is an Enable Vsync checkbox or a Max FPS slider really that hard to patch in?

i'm mostly disappointed in the price, i got my hands on a very early alpha copy at some point, and i liked the game in the way you'd like a sub-€5 game, not in the way you like a €30 game that is after it's pre-release still collecting money for what used to be an early adopter "feature".

Luckily I got it when it was 75% off...
