GS502VT vs The New Razer Blade Stealth

Back once again with another question! I have changed my two contending laptops to the Asus GL502VT and the new razer blade stealth. If you are about to make a rude comment saying don't choose any of them, just please don't. They are around the same price, with the asus one having a 970 in it and the stealth having the new kaby lake processor. I choose these two because I'm deciding between having a 970, and being able to play a wide range of games, but can have a varying 3-6 hour battery life, or the new stealth which has no dedicated graphics, an 8 hour battery life and is thin compared to its competitor. I could really use the help deciding between portibility and power.

Thanks,

~Wolf585

It depends on what you want to do with the laptop. If you want to have the option of playing "core gamer" 3D games, you need a dedicated GPU.

if that is rude in your opinion, then there is something wrong with you. That is called being nice, because they both have problems and are not good laptops. A nice person would say get none of them, because they are both bad, so you don't get a bad experiance.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

What laptop do you recommend that is around $1200 that can at least play minecraft at max settings has over an 7 hour battery life, has a good keyboard and is under .7" thick? I would appreciate that.

are we talking with shades? Shades can fuck over really powerfull laptops. Also the GL502VT is fine, if you get one of the newer produced ones, there were some problems with it in the start at least here in Denmark, some retailers still have some few of the first ones they made and there were a usb problem with some of those. It is last gen and is about as power full as a desktop with a i5 and a gtx 960, so you can see how well a desktop gtx 960 handles games. That is also about as powerful as it gets for your needs, because no 1060 clevo is going to match the battery life or the thickness. Just be prepared that the temps are not that great and the fact that it is a Asus laptop, so if you ever need to get in contact with Asus, because of a problem, then you get to experience the shitty support Asus has.

If you want more power then you have to give up some things.

A cooling pad might also be nice to have if you game for a longer period, the lower you keep the temps the better.

Got the new blade stealth. Very beautiful device. Works very well. It's thin, light, and the battery so far is very good and lasts a while. I really do like it.

I dunno how urgently you need a new laptop, but if you can wait a few months or so, we should start seeing some very interesting laptops what with the new 10 series gpus being implemented in their full desktop form in surprisingly portable and slim form factors. i dunno about pricing, but I believe that saving up for one of them will give you better value over the long term... for example this one, which was recently reviewed by Linus: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GS43VR-Phantom-Pro-006-i7-6700HQ/dp/B01IO9Y30G/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1475885864&sr=1-3&keywords=MSI+GS63VR
