Hello,

so I'm in market for new laptop for university( mechanical engineering) and I want it to have i7 6700hq for cad/solid/matlab, but I would like to play some games like LoL and overwatch and from time to time some heavier games(like Gta 5,and some new titles) but they don't need to be at ultra/high. I found lenovo y700(i7 6700hq/8gb(will upgrade)/and no ssd(will upgrade)) for about 1000usd( I know that is not so cheap but I'm from Eu(croatia)) and that is the best deal at the moment..heh

So now on my question, should I wait for new laptops with 1050/1050ti because ones with 1060 are so expensive, especially here.Or should I buy  960m. And when would 1050 arrive on laptops and at what price? Because my budget is 1000usd max.

Thank you all in advance

Yo wtf. Yes buy this up if you can't afford to wait. Finding it for such a low price is pretty amazing in the EU. If you can afford to wait then yes, 1050 laptops will come out.

No idea yet, but they're likely to be in the same price range. I wouldn't be surprised if the Dell 7559 is updated with the more powerful GPU. The cooling solution can EASILY handle the current hardware with plenty of room to spare.

Sorry if I piggyback your thread, but I have the same problem...Dell's Italian website has updated its inspiron 7000 "gaming" lineup from the 7559 to 7566, but it's exactly the same laptop! Only exterior changes!

Since this is a model I've seen on Dell's Australian site, could it be that they're trying to clear warehouse before 1050s?

I knew that something like this was coming, there have been some talk about it among some of my friends. The 7559 is/was just way too big hit to not get a upgrade.

From what I can tell, then the 7566 has gotten a hinge upgrade, with one big middle hinge. They definitely took a page from the Y700 design book, no way around that, maybe also a "subwoofer". I would have liked to see bigger vents and more usb ports and maybe some usb 3.1 ports. I do like the ram speed upgrade. I am not a fan of the shared heat pipe.

Overall it looks like a fairly solid laptop, it needs to get pascal to live up to that price, because that is too much for a 960m laptop.

From my experience and from what I can see then this would be a 7/10 stars laptop if it gets pascal.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

As someone who currently owns a Lenovo Y700 with 12GB of Ram and a 250GB SSD, I love it! I've had mine for half a year now, and it is a fantastic laptop. It feels sturdy, and it came relatively bloatware free from Amazon. The 960m does everything I need it to, the only time I've had to lower settings is when I went from Epic to Ultra on Overwatch for 60 FPS consistently. Do it man! It's a great laptop, I can't say enough good stuff about it!

Lenovo Y700 - i7-6800HQ - 12GB RAM - 250GB SSD - GTX 960m
