Windows Search not Working.

Hello,

Windows search is not working on my computer.

I just get this when I go to search.

Spoiler

dbcbc79281104b2fbe129f0c05366480.png

But when I make an new account it works, however I don't wont to lose all my settings, it is setup how I like it.

I would like to know if there is any way to move my settings, or just fix search, BTW I followed Barnacles Windows Spying Video.

Thanks In advance,

Josh

Could you try reuploading the photo? It's just showing the filename. But assuming you're talking about the Windows search bar at the bottom of the screen, it's generally pretty common for it to randomly not work, often requiring and reinstall. Did it ever work before?

Try Step 4

https://www.maketecheasier.com/fix-windows-10-start-menu-search/

If that doesn't work I would try the other ones.

At Last resort download this:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/

And re-update to windows 10. Make sure you select keep all files and that you want to install on this machine right now.

If it works not much should change. If you select Keep All Files, it will Keep all files. I think it will reset custom Regedit's if you tinkered with it. Did this happen after an unexpected crash or power outage? If there wasn't a crash it could mean your SSD/HDD is failing. One you get it fixed I would run a SMART test.

My Ocz ARC 100 failed (I actually booted it on this PC, the one I am typing on) it still works, but you never know when its going to corrupt Windows. I doubt that's the case. I crashed my 850 Evo and it did something like that, and it's fine.

Restart your pc and see if it fixed anything. If not try the other steps. Chances are you will have to re-update.

No the restart didn't fix it,

Try the other steps. Restarting after each, tell me what happened once youve tried them all.

No Didnt work

Try the Re-update. Remember to select that you want to install on this Machine, and that you want to Keep All Files.

You never did answer me if you crashed. And that Barnacles video didn't tell you change much did it? I didn't watch the video, but I want to ensure you didn't go into some files and edit. I'd hope you would have just ticked a few settings.
