Weird question: which thermal compound should I use

The cooler will come with thermal paste, and you can use that. It really doesn't make much of a difference outside the extreme high/low end.

 

If you must buy new, I tend to recommend Noctua's NT-H1.

The paste Cryorig includes is more or less equal to NT-H1.(Cryorig paste was 1 degree warmer than NT-H1 in a reviewer's thermal paste test.)

If it does come with its own compound, I'll use that. It doesn't say it includes thermal compound so I don't know. Does compound come with every cpu fan?

The one that comes with the Cryorig H5 will suffice.
