Xbox 360 Mod?

LucasDerpYT

So, I pulled out my 250GB hard drive on my Xbox 360, and I looked inside of it (I didnt take it apart) and its an Xbox 360 S BTW, And I realized, it has a pretty good processor, a dedicated 512MB GPU, and 512 MB RAM. Could you possibly take it apart, get a new HDD or SSD, and add more memory, install Windows 10, and have a gaming PC for around 50 - 150 dollars? RAM is pretty cheap, and a 500 GB HDD ( we can get from my brother's old laptop) is cheap.
So can you do this?

No, you can't really update it....but the CPU and GPU are both EXTREMELY weak. You could buy a much better (used) PC for probably around $200.

  • 2 weeks later...

Iwould say a 3.1GHZ TriCore CPU and a 512 MB GDDR RAM isnt that bad.

I would want to slap a Radeon 5450 in there. If I could

Here's a wrench in the cogs that'll throw your plans out of whack: the Xbox 360 uses an IBM POWER processor. You can't install Windows on it or run Windows games, period.

Not to mention the fact that a 3.1ghz tricore from 2005 would be shit even if it was x86.

It has way more similarity to a Power Mac G5 than any regular PC of today and that similarity is relatively vague in some ways. To put it simply, no, you cannot install a different operating system on it.
